About Me

Hi, I'm FlashWreck (aka Aaditya Gupta) from India. I'm into tech, computers, gaming, selfhosting, networking, IoT and Home Automation. I'm currently working on BreatheOSS, my main project. (more details below)

I'm also a huge fan of Rock and Metal music including (but not limited to) Progressive, Psychedelic, Soft Rock, Grunge and somewhat Metal. (Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, Nirvana, The Beatles, King Crimson etc)

I'm passionate about creating things and tinkering with tech. Whether it be getting old tech in my house to work, flashing old devices with custom firmware or adding new things to my homelab. Its all very fun for me. I'm also partly into photography (of nature and my hometown) and graphic design.

I am also a huge supporter of Open Source Software and believe that random people on the internet, coming together to maintain several useful projects that keep the internet running, free of cost, without any payment is such a beautiful thing and must be kept going, always.

I would define myself technically as being mostly into DevOps but i also like to work with UI/UX, IoT, Home Automation and Electronics.

What I have made

Co-Developed BreatheOSS with my best friend sidharthify, which is a free and open source (free as in freedom and price) application, which provides reliable and accurate air quality data for the region of Jammu and Kashmir. With real-time ground sensor integration. Currently DevOps Maintainer, Co-Developer and Graphic Designer.
Collaborated with people in Jammu and Kashmir to deploy multiple air quality sensors across many locations in J&K (Jammu, Rajouri, Srinagar etc) and integrated them into Breathe (mentioned above). Available freely through multiple APIs including AirGradient, OpenAQ and Breathe API to anyone who wants to use it.
My home lab/server with an old laptop and a Raspberry Pi 5. Including things like a VPN, Home Automation (using Home Assistant), Media Server (Plex), Photo Library (Photoprism), AI Server (Open WebUI), Personal Finance Tracker (Actualbudget), Password Manager (Vaultwarden) etc.
Private Matrix Server for End to End Encrypted (E2EE) conversations with my friends, with a STUN/TURN server for voice/video calls.
This very Website.
A Minecraft SMP (Named Eclipse SMP)
Tutorials about linux on my YouTube channel.
A selfhosted music server like Spotify (using Navidrome and FLAC Files) with my best friend Sidharth @ sidharthify.me
Multiple GFX works for many people.
Made a DIY Security Wifi Camera with a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, Raspberry Pi Camera Module and MotionEyeOS
Learnt soldering, flashed multiple off the shelf tuya (chinese cloud) based devices to flash open source custom firmware that's more compatible with Home Assistant.
Made a DNS server-box for my local network, for network wide adblocking and dns query management. With Unbound as a recursive, validating and caching DNS resolver. Along with my other networking stack. Using a Radxa Zero 3E (as it had inbuilt gigabit ethernet perfect for networking)
